Introduction To Cloud Computing – Let’s assume that you are working as an executive at a large firm. And one of your job responsibilities entail ensuring that all of your employees have the right hardware and software to get their tasks done. Hence, more employees mean more hardwares and softwares. Therefore, rather than installing a bunch of softwares for every employee’s computer, you might as well load one application that would enable all the employees to log in to a web-based service which will host the whole suite of programs and on-demand computing services that your corporation requires.

There are machines owned by a separate company that would run a variety of services, ranging from e-mail to word processing to complex data analysis programs. Many companies are doing enormously profitable businesses by owning these network of computers, for example JustCloud (Here you can read JustCloud’s detailed review), CONTUS (www.contus.com), Demandware (www.demandware.com) and Dealertrack Technologies (www.dealertrack.com).  So your firm does not have to take all the workload when it comes down to running applications. The network of computers, called the cloud, takes care of it. This is known as cloud computing, and it has drastically begun to alter the entire computer industry, especially with almost 30 huge public companies altogether representing more than $100 billion in market capitalization in 2013. The cloud computing industry has officially come of age.

Cloud storage companies offer a wide range of services that are user-friendly for individuals, small enterprises and large corporations alike. These services are primarily divided into three categories, namely, Software as a service (SaaS), Platform as a service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a service (IaaS). SaaS delivers web-based services over the Internet. PaaS provides an environment including host tools, that supports the delivery of these services and IaaS provides storage services. All in all, these include, but are not limited to:

• Unlimited cloud storage space

• File and folder sharing

• Computer syncing

• Video tutorials

• Full computer restore

There are various aspects of cloud computing that need to be taken into consideration. For example, the security measures that cloud companies employ. One should make sure that the cloud company has secure data centers with most trusted protection procedures. Pricing is also an issue with cloud storage services. Even though many companies are offering such phenomenal services that the price for them may seem like peanuts. But for small enterprises, it might be a financial hindrance. However, many companies offer their storage services free of cost on a trial basis so one can pick and choose after having compared the features that are provided with the price tag.
